Statement
- ORDA Ethiopia believes all people have a right to live their lives free from any form of sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse, and that no child should be subjected to abuse of any form. Sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse, child abuse, trafficking of humans seriously prohibited as per our policy. We believe that sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse are more likely to be exerted over particular groups of people due to inequalities and vulnerabilities, particularly those experienced by women, vulnerable adults and children.
- ORDA Ethiopia is committed to make every effort to promote, create and maintain a safe organizational culture for all people who work for and with us including partners and communities where we work. We will create an environment where it is safe to address sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse, and child abuse. We are committed to ensure that the six core principles relating sexual exploitation and abuse are well addressed and realized.
Principles
- ORDA Ethiopia staff, Board Members and Affiliates are expected to treat all people with whom they have contact with respect, to actively prevent all forms of harassment abuse and exploitation including all forms of sexual misconduct and trafficking and ensure programs we implement ‘Do no harm’ the communities we serve.
- ORDA Ethiopia has a zero-tolerance approach toward sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse. We will carefully examine allegations and investigate and take appropriate disciplinary action as appropriate and needed. We want to make clear that sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse to child and vulnerable adult in any form, perpetrated by our staff, affiliates or other related personnel, towards anyone, will not be tolerated.
Adherence
- Full compliance with this safeguarding policy is expected of all ORDA Ethiopia staff, board members, and affiliates (include but not limited partners, volunteers, visitors, contractors, donors, consultants, service providers etc)
Report
- All ORDA Ethiopia Staff, Board Members, and affiliates are obligated to report any concerns or suspicions of any forms of harassment, abuse and exploitation may be a result of witnessing the incident, being told of it, or being the object of it.
- More over anyone who experiences or witnesses a safeguarding concern related to our programs or personnel is encouraged to report it immediately through our confidential reporting channels. Every report will be handled with sensitivity, fairness, and without retaliation.
