Ato Alemu Sisay, a father of three from Meseno Kebele, Habru Woreda, struggled to feed his family after returning from life as a refugee in Sudan. With support from ORDA Ethiopia and UNICEF’s Climate Smart Nutrition Project, he established a backyard farm with fish, chickens, and vegetables. His children’s health improved, his pregnant wife gained access to nutritious meals, and the family now enjoys balanced food from their own compound. Alemu has become a local advocate, helping others embrace integrated farming for nutrition and income.
