Youths are creating their own job

"I completed my high school with insufficient result, and then I became jobless. My family gave me a one hectare land, and I was producing wheat & legume ones a year only”, said Eyayaw Adane, married & own one child, who lives in Womberoch woftoma kebele, Ebinat woreda. “But when ORDA’s improving youth employment through soft skill training and other supports project recruited me, while it recruits jobless youths. First I got Birr 90,000 loan from the project. Then I bought one water pump generator and started an irrigation work in the dry season. I bought 3 quintals of Garlic seed & 4 quintals of Potato seed, and I sew. According to my forecast for garlic product, I will earn a net profit of Birr 80,000”, he said.

ORDA’s Improving youth employment through soft skill training and other supports project, which has an aim to create a job for jobless youth, was launched on July 2018 in Ebinat woreda, South Gondar Zone with a total budget of 5,245,696 secured from Gafat Endowment Enterprise (95.3 % share) & ORDA (4.7 % share). The project has been working to create a job for 200 jobless youth, and it gave entrepreneurship training & facilitation works.
